About Us
I was on a yearlong writing bootcamp when I took this picture while roller-skating around a pond in Morgantown, West Virginia. I took a year off from work to hit the trail for as many writing retreats I could get into. It was an incredible year. The bottom picture was in another West Virginia town.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the Story?
The Marvelous Medical Series bridges the gap between the clinical textbook and the reality of the caregiver’s bedside. By anchoring high-level medical knowledge within a compelling narrative, The Thief in the Mirror transforms complex diagnosis into practical practice. You will be amazed at how quickly Dementia-The Stolen Mind becomes your most powerful tool in the 24/7 reality of dementia care.
I wrote The Thief in the Mirror: Dementia—A Stolen Mind to bridge the gap between the sterile hospital floor and the raw reality of the caregiver’s living room. I am sharing the ‘Audit of the Heart’—combining four decades of clinical intensity with a narrative that teaches you how to fight back when a loved one’s mind is being stolen.”
This is more than a novel—it is a teaching tool for the front lines of dementia.
Bio
Meet Geri Grooms Boyd
ICU-ER Trauma Nurse | RN-Paramedic since 1987
“I have spent my life in the ‘Golden Hour.’ From the high-velocity chaos of Trauma ERs to the critical precision of the ICU and the front lines of EMS, I have spent 40 years decoding the human body in crisis.
But when the crisis hits, I realize that even a lifetime of medical training doesn’t prepare you for the ‘Dementia from YOU-KNOW-WHERE!’
As an RN-Paramedic since 1987, I have seen the human body at its most vulnerable. In The Thief in the Mirror: Dementia—A Stolen Mind, I take the clinical medicine and the raw reality of caregiving and make them make-sense.
